Benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple Cider vinegar (ACV)  is one of the most beneficial things you could be eating/drinking. It has so many incredible health benefits. Read on for some of my favorite! 

1) It helps regulate Blood Sugar. 

The acetic acid in ACV helps people metabolize starches and actually changes the glycolysis process in the liver. By helping with the digestion of these things there is a positive impact on blood sugar, and helps people avoid blood sugar spikes from carbohydrates. 

2) It Helps lower blood pressure. 

The acetic acid in ACV can help to eliminate cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood vessels, which cause thickening, hardening or narrowing of the artery walls, thus increasing blood pressure. 

3) It Helps with weight management. 

ACV helps your body to not overproduce insulin, thus helping with sweet cravings. It also helps to keep you feeling fuller longer. 

4) It is a natural cleanse for your body. 

Apple cider vinegar is rich with enzymes which stimulate liver function and lymphatic drainage, as well as healthy bacterias that filter to your gut and aid in digestion and waste elimination.

ACV is one of nature's best cures for being sick. Add 2tbsp of ACV to 6-8 ounces of water a few times a day on the onset of a cold and see symptoms disappear faster without any medications.

A healthy gut is important for a healthy body. Your gut health is directly correlated to your immune system and how well it works. As you can see there are many benefits to consuming ACV daily. Here are my favorite great ways to do just that! 

1) Drink It! 

Make an ACV tonic or tea - take 2tbsp ACV, 2tbsp lemon juice, 1tsp honey, sprinkle of cinnamon and turmeric and either hot or cold water (about 8 ounces) - I like to start my day with this! 

2) Put it on a salad! 

I use ACV as the acid for my salad dressings. Mix 2 parts olive oil to 1 part ACV and put over your favorite salad.
